With views of the nearby beach and ocean from the hospital, the renovation of the 7,900 square foot Pediatrics Department is designed with a cheerful seashore theme. Custom wall murals of beach cabanas, seaglass Corian countertops, and schools of hand-painted fish that appear to swim down the hallways are a few of the decorative touches made to create a playful atmosphere for children of all pediatric ages. Other imaginative elements include a room installed with a vinyl "water" floor with a "sandy" entrance, where children "float" on a treatment table designed to emulate a raft while looking at ceiling tiles with carved shells, fish and other sea life.
